People have flocked to an Indonesian hospital for a glimpse of the country’s largest ever recorded baby.
Dr Binsar Sitanggang said today he delivered Akbar Risuddin, a 19.2lb (8.7kg) boy.
Akbar means big, or great, in Arabic.
Dr Sitanggang said crowds hoping to get a view of the extraordinary boy gathered at the Abdul Manan hospital in the town of Kisaran, North Sumatra province.
He said the mother and child are in good condition after the 40-minute operation.
The former Indonesian record holder was a 14.7lb baby boy born on the outskirts of the capital, Jakarta, in 2007.
