Newry church attacked by vandals

Vandals broke into a church in the North today, breaking a number of windows.

Vandals broke into a church in the North today, breaking a number of windows.

The foyer of the Church of Ireland church in Kilkeel, Co Down was ransacked.

They also severely damaged a car which was parked nearby during the early morning vandalism spree.

Police believe the culprits forced their way into the vestibule of the building on Newry Street at about 2.30am.

Investigating officers said they are treating the case as criminal damage.

They have appealed for anyone who can help their inquiries, or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area, to contact them at Newry.
