Hundreds of Quinn Insurance workers have turned out at Leinster House in Dublin to protest at the High Court decision to place the company into administration.

Hundreds of Quinn Insurance workers have turned out at Leinster House in Dublin to protest at the High Court decision to place the company into administration.

Over 40 bus loads of workers have arrived in the city centre, while a similar protest is taking place in Cavan.

The Financial Regulator has come under fire from Quinn supporters who claim he is taking a heavy handed approach, putting 5,500 jobs at risk.

Staff are calling for the Regulator to overturn a ban on writing new business in the UK.
