Survivors of the Pakistan earthquake are struggling to fight the cold as bitter winter conditions set in.

Many makeshift shelters housing the homeless are collapsing under heavy snowfall and there is three to four feet of snow in the earthquake region.

Hundreds of thousands of people are living in the tents that are not proofed against the winter conditions and are falling sick from pneumonia and measles because of the cold.

Roads to Kashmir are blocked off, and flights to the area were grounded yesterday, preventing food from getting to thousands of people in need.

Irish aid worker Sean Browne from Friends of Pakistan is in the worst hit region and says conditions are getting worse and more donations are desperately needed.

They can be lodged to an AIB account in Navan.
