Police were today searching for a conman said to resemble rock-and-roll legend Elvis Presley.

Warwickshire police in England said the bogus caller, who purported to be a gardener before stealing cash from a 91-year-old woman’s home, was described by a witness as looking like a ‘‘young Elvis’’.

He struck at a sheltered housing complex in Eastlang Road, Fillongley, at approximately 11.30am yesterday.

The offender, described as white, aged 25 to 35, tall and slim, was wearing a dark shiny jacket, a police spokeswoman said.

He stole a small quantity of cash, a gas stamp and a pension book and left the area in a pale grey F-registered car after being confronted by another resident.
