Lennart Johansson has announced he intends to stand for re-election when his term as president of UEFA expires next year.
Johansson, who has been in the role since 1990, was expected to stand down, leaving former France midfielder and manager Michel Platini and 2006 World Cup organising committee chief Franz Beckenbauer to fight it out for the position.
However, at a meeting of the UEFA executive board in Berlin today, he announced his intention to stand for another four-year term.
