Shaw resigns as safety council chief

Eddie Shaw has resigned as head of the National Safety Council.

Eddie Shaw has resigned as head of the National Safety Council.

Mr Shaw has confirmed this morning that he has quit his post, however he says reports that his decision is due to a row with the Minister for Transport Martin Cullen, are "absolutely untrue."

He has been chief of the Council for six years.
