Judge praises Brown at probation status hearing

Chris Brown is doing a “great job” on probation.

Chris Brown is doing a “great job” on probation.

The ‘I Can Transform Ya’ singer attended his fourth status hearing yesterday in relation to the sentence given for his attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009, and Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg had nothing but praise for the 21-year-old star.

She said: “You’re doing very well on probation. You’re doing a great job.”

Brown did not speak throughout the hearing, but Judge Schnegg noted he had worked consistently on his six-month community labour sentence and she had received positive reports from his domestic violence counsellors and his probation officers in Virginia.

However, she did not confirm how many hours of community work he had completed.

In his last hearing in February, it was confirmed the ‘Run It’ hitmaker had completed 290 hours of work, approximately 20% of his required total.

Speaking at the hearing, Judge Schnegg confirmed he had been a “really, really” good trash picker.

Praising his commitment to his community service order, she said: “You’re doing really, really well. I think you’ve made a lot of progress in the last month.”

Brown is due back in court on November 18.
