A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident in Cork yesterday which left a man critically ill in hospital.

A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident in Cork yesterday which has left a man critically ill in hospital.

The man will appear at a sitting of Cork District Court at 10.30am tomorrow morning.

A second man in his 50s who was arrested has been released without charge this evening and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The victim, who is in his 30s, remains in a critical condition in hospital after he was stabbed outside a house on Kerry Hall Road in Fair Hill at around 2.30pm yesterday.
