Taoiseach hails triple jobs boost
Seventy five jobs are to be created across three multinational companies in Co Laois, Co Galway and Co Longford.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny said the positions, introduced under a new Government employment initiative, would be a welcome boost to the local communities.
“Every job that is created through Connect Ireland, under the Succeed in Ireland initiative, is a job that may not have come to Ireland without the intervention of a ’connector’,” Mr Kenny said.
“Whether it is individual connections like this or wider Government strategy, our message is: ’Ireland is open for business and a great location for inward investment’.”
US-based automotive coating business the Magni Group announced 50 new jobs for a new manufacturing plant near Portarlington, Laois.
Consultancy and recruitment firm Flagship Management, also based in the US, will set up international headquarters at Kinvara in Galway, creating 15 new jobs.
And a further 10 jobs will be rolled out at Italian firm Ark Energy Consulting in Longford town as it expands its operations to Ireland.
The three companies were introduced to Ireland through Connect Ireland, which is responsible for the Government’s Succeed in Ireland initiative under its Action Plan for Jobs.
They were initially referred to Connect Ireland by a registered connector, who put the companies in touch with an expert foreign direct investment team when they learned the companies were planning to expand.
