A total of 1,795,900 Irish residents travelled abroad on holidays during the period August to October this year, 120,500 less compared to this time last year.

Statistics show less Irish people taking foreign holidays

A total of 1,795,900 Irish residents travelled abroad on holidays during the period August to October this year, 120,500 less compared to this time last year.

According CSO figures released today, the number of people from other countries visiting Ireland also decreased slightly, with 1,903,90 holidaying in the country between August and October of this year.

This represents just 4,000 less visitors compared to the same period in 2010.
