Review of schoolbus safety launched

The Dept of Education and Bus Eireann are to launch a review of school bus safety to investigate what, if any, improvements can be made to its vehicles.

The Dept of Education and Bus Eireann are to launch a review of school bus safety to investigate what, if any, improvements can be made to its vehicles.

The move follows a number of recent accidents on private and public buses carrying schoolchildren in counties Dublin, Monaghan and Galway.

However, the company has rejected allegations that its buses are tested to a lower standard of safety than those of other operators.
