Iranian quizzed in connection to swallowed heroin find

An Iranian national is today being questioned at Cork Airport after €30,000 worth of heroin was found in his body.

An Iranian national is today being questioned at Cork Airport after €30,000 worth of heroin was found in his body.

Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service seized the 15 capsules of the drug after they passed though the passenger’s digestive system.

“The man, who is aged in his 30s, had travelled on a flight from Amsterdam. He had ingested the drugs,” said a Customs spokesman.

“He is currently assisting gardaí with enquiries.”
