Women will soon be forced to dig deeper for motor and life insurance.

It comes after a European Court ruled that companies must offer unisex premiums - to prevent discrimination against men.

They are typically deemed to be more risky drivers and, statistically, they have shorter lives.

The Government is now drafting new legislation - which is due to come into force in December.
