Three groups representing teachers and students have joined forces to protest against education cuts announced in last month's Budget.
The Teachers Union of Ireland, the Irish Federation of University Teachers and the Union of Students in Ireland are accusing Education Minister Batt O'Keefe of deliberately targeting families who can least afford to send their children to college.
They say the decision to increase registration fees, introduce new taxes and abolish child benefit payments for over-18s will all act as a barrier to people trying to further their education.
