Online fundraiser for cyclist injured in hit and run

An online fundraiser has been organised for a cyclist injured in a hit and run incident in Baldoyle on July 9.

The 26-year-old was knocked to the ground when he was struck by a car on the Strand Road.

The driver of the car failed to stop and the car was found abandoned in Castlemoyne Estate.

The cyclist, Jones Justino, is recovering well from his injuries but is undergoing rehabilitation and may have to undergo surgery on his spine.

A close friend of the victim, Bruno Ribeiro, said: "The Brazilian community here in Dublin is working together in order to assist him and already donated more than €1200."

In order to assist Justino and his wife an online fundraising page has been set up here.
