The Tánaiste is in Brussels today for a meeting with EU Foreign Ministers to discuss the situation in Syria.
On the agenda will be efforts to prevent the conflict spilling over into neighbouring Lebanon as well as a discussion of the EU’s approach to Hezbollah.
This is the first meeting of EU foreign leaders since the decision to send Irish troops to serve with UN Forces on the Golan Heights.
In addition to Syria, the leaders will also focus on the ongoing situation in Egypt, following the military intervention and the removal of President Mohamed Morsi.
