Beau ready for comeback

Sher Beau is none the worse for his recent tumble in the Paddy Power Chase and will be back in action at Thurles next week.

The promising eight-year-old stepped up on some decent performances to finish a close third behind In Compliance and War Of Attrition in the John Durkan Memorial Chase at Punchestown two starts back.

Following that fine performance, he was then sent off the well-supported 6-1 favourite for Leopardstown’s valuable handicap but met with repeated interference before being brought down at the second last fence.

Having emerged unscathed from the mishap, he will now bid to regain the winning thread in the Maclochlainn Road Markings Kinloch Brae Chase on Thursday before connections make any further plans.

“He’s okay but he had a really rough passage in Leopardstown the last day,” explained handler Philip Fenton.

"But he’s come out of his race fine funnily enough and he’ll run next in the Kinloch Brae on Thursday. He’s an unusual horse in that you’d call him a delicate sort of a horse but hopefully we’ll make a plan for him from next Thursday onwards if we get the right result."
