Unions and HSE meet to discuss proposed Portiuncula hospital cuts

Unions and the HSE have been meeting in Galway over the future of Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

Unions and the HSE have been meeting in Galway over the future of Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

IMPACT says the HSE West is seeking €90m in cuts and these will be rolled out at UCHG and Portiuncula Hospital.

A large protest took place at Portiuncula yesterday with demonstrators opposed to any moves to close the facility, something the HSE says it has no plans to do.
