Electric Ireland has announced a prize freeze on its electricity prices for residential customers, until January 2014.

The supplier says it will absorb the additional costs arising from higher fuel and network charges.

In a statement released this afternoon, Electric Ireland also said it will absorb the cost of the increase in the Public Service Obligation, or PSO levy, which was to take effect from Tuesday last.
