PIAB extends circumstances for claiming additional fees

The Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) today announced that it is extending the circumstances in which vulnerable personal injury claimants may be allowed additional fees and expenses including legal fees on the assessment of their claims.

These costs will be borne by the respondent, normally the insurance company.

Commenting, Patricia Byron, chief executive said: "I believe this is a very welcome and necessary development and benefits those claimants who by virtue of individual circumstances need external advice to process their claim with PIAB."
