McAleese to visit Irish aid scheme

President Mary McAleese is to leave Dublin today as she prepares for an 11-day trip of Africa.

President Mary McAleese is to leave Dublin today as she prepares for an 11-day trip of Africa.

The tour will focus on Irish aid workers and missionaries, visiting projects that are funded by the Irish Aid project.

The trip is expected to take in the remote parts of Uganda and Kenya as well as meetings with the Presidents of the two nations.
