There has been a substantial seizure of contraband goods in North County Dublin today.

There has been a substantial seizure of contraband goods in North County Dublin today.

Gardaí have recovered what is believed to be around €500,000 worth of DVDs and a quantity of CDs in a planned search of a house on the Naul road on the outskirts of Balbriggan.

The goods were seized last night and investigations are continuing today.

Around 90 burners were also recovered in the operation which have the capacity to burn around 10 CDs at a time.

It is part of an ongoing crack down on counterfeit operations.
