Amoruso reveals United and Arsenal interest

Rangers defender Lorenzo Amoruso has claimed Barclaycard Premiership giants Manchester United and Arsenal have joined the chase to sign him.

Rangers defender Lorenzo Amoruso has claimed Barclaycard Premiership giants Manchester United and Arsenal have joined the chase to sign him.

Blackburn have already tabled an offer for the Italian, who is set to leave Ibrox this summer in an attempt to ease the club’s financial situation.

But, despite the interest, he insists he would rather stay at Rangers for the rest of his career than make a glamour move to the Premiership.

He told the Daily Record: “Yes, it’s true, I have been told that both of these clubs are interested in signing me.

“I didn’t want to say anything about it because it’s very early days and we don’t know what is going to happen but they have spoken to my agent.

“It is obviously very flattering but, as I have said all along, my dream would be to finish my career in Glasgow and I really mean that – no matter who wants to sign me.

“But I have to be realistic and if that can’t happen then I will look at my options.”
