Bruff gardaí appeal for witnesses to fatal road accident

Gardaí at Bruff are appealing for witnesses to a single-vehicle road accident in Co Limerick yesterday evening, in which a six-year-old boy lost his life.

Gardaí at Bruff are appealing for witnesses to a single-vehicle road accident in Co Limerick yesterday evening, in which a six-year-old boy lost his life.

The boy, who was a pedestrian, was fatally injured when he was struck by a car near his home at Farnane in Murroe at about 5pm.

The road was closed overnight pending a technical examination.

A post mortem is due to be carried out on the boy's body at the Mid Western Regional hospital today.
