April this year was the warmest April on record at most weather stations around the country.

The highest temperatures were recorded on April 10 and in the period between April 20 and 22 when they rose above 20C.

The 20.8C recorded at Malin Head on April 22 was the highest of any April since the stations opened.

On the whole, the month was sunnier and drier than normal almost everywhere.
