Sports Minister John O'Donoghue has revealed that the Government has received 23 expressions of interest from the private sector following the cabinet's refusal to fund the Stadium Ireland project.
The Department of Sport is currently reviewing the submissions and, if they are attractive, Minister O'Donoghue said advertisements for formal tenders will be published.
The Government was forced to invite private businessmen to build the ambitious stadium after the cabinet refused to fund the scheme with taxpayers' money.
