Ulster Unionist Party leader David Trimble has called for Sinn Féin to be excluded from the ongoing review of the Good Friday Agreement until the IRA ends all paramilitary activity.
Mr Trimble was responding to the attempted abduction of a dissident republican in Belfast on Friday.
The PSNI has claimed that the Provisional IRA was behind the incident.
Mr Trimble said the British government should respond by expelling Sinn Féin from the current agreement review.
