A 73-year-old man has gone on trial at the Central Criminal Court today accused of 113 counts of rape, oral rape and sexual assault against three people over a seven-year period.
The accused with an address in Dublin has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a male and sexually assault and raping two females between 1995 and 2002.
The offences are alleged to have occurred in locations across the country including Dublin, Wexford and Cork.
A jury has been sworn in to hear the case which is expected to last at least four weeks. The trial will proceed on Wednesday before Mr Justice George Birmingham.
