Gardaí investigating the activities of dissident republicans were today questioning three men.

Gardaí investigating the activities of dissident republicans were today questioning three men.

They were arrested last night after firearms and ammunition were seized during a number of searches.

Officers from the Special Detective Unit had been monitoring the behaviour of several people and searched a hotel apartment in Dublin and a number of premises in the midlands.

Two men were being held in Dublin while the third was being held in the midlands.
