A teenage drinking party on Ireland’s Eye was broken up by gardaí today following a disturbance.
A group of youths had used several boats to reach the uninhabited island, which is off the coast of Howth.
But a fight broke out with another group. One man was injured.
The Coastguard was alerted, and the Howth inshore lifeboat took a garda and two paramedics out to the island.
They picked up six people who were on board a 16-foot boat that was carrying the injured man back from the island.
The injured man was taken to hospital.
Another 42 people on the island were returned to the mainland on the lifeboat.
One man was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
