US President Barack Obama has announced new measures to expand domestic oil production in the wake of high fuel prices.

US President Barack Obama has announced new measures to expand domestic oil production in the wake of high fuel prices.

In his weekly radio and internet address he said plans are underway to lease out areas in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico.

He is also pushing for a reduction of America's oil consumption and wants to expand renewable energy sources.
