The DUP, the Orange Order and Sinn Féin have all condemned an attack on an Orange Order hall in west Belfast.

The kitchen area of the hall was badly damaged after flammable liquid was poured in and set on fire.

The Orange Order said this was a deliberate attempt to stir up tension, and that it was a premeditated attack that was designed specifically to provoke the Orange brethren ahead of tomorrow’s “Love Ulster” parade.

But they said that Protestant culture would not be erased by the Parades Commission or, as they called the arsonists, “stupid morons armed with petrol and matches”.

They added that whatever people thought about the Orange Order, there was simply no justification for this attack.
