Hundreds of people attended the funeral of Edward Ward in Tuam, Co Galway today.

Hundreds of people attended the funeral of Edward Ward in Tuam, Co Galway today.

The 24-year-old was shot dead in a double killing in Dublin more than a week ago.

Large crowds lined the streets as his coffin passed in a horse drawn hearse.

He is survived by his wife Jodie, daughters three-year-old Jessica and six-month-old Katie, his parents Martin and Nora and his brothers and sisters.

Prayers were also said for the other victim, 40-year-old Brian Downes.
