Brinks workers reject fresh proposals on ATM dispute

Workers at Brinks Allied have rejected proposals submitted by the company’s management in an effort to resolve a dispute over the introduction of new security vans and procedures.

Workers at Brinks Allied have rejected proposals submitted by the company’s management in an effort to resolve a dispute over the introduction of new security vans and procedures.

The proposals were a modified version of a Labour Court recommendation that was rejected by Brinks management last week.

The workers, members of SIPTU, began all-out strike action on Monday in response to the company’s rejection of the recommendation.

The same workers voted on the fresh proposal this morning, but rejected the offer by a three-fifths majority on the grounds that it was less favourable than the Labour Court’s recommended resolution.

Hundreds of ATM machines in the east of the country have been left without cash because of the four-week old dispute.
