Three men were stabbed during an attack in a bar early today.

A 21-year-old man suffered serious stab wounds to the face in the attack in the bar at Cupar Street Lower off the Falls Road in west Belfast, said police.

Another man in his 30s was stabbed in the side and a third man in his 20s suffered a hand injury.

All three were treated in hospital but none of their injuries were believed to be life threatening, said a PSNI spokesman.

The attack at around 12.45am was carried out by two masked men who entered the bar armed with a number of weapons, including a knife.

A third man is believed to have waited outside and the attackers made off in either a large saloon car or 4x4.

A PSNI spokesman said: “Police are following a positive line of inquiry but are unable to comment further at the moment because of investigative reasons.”

There were around 20 people in the bar at the time of the stabbings and police appealed for anyone who has yet to come forward to do so.
