SIPTU and Brinks management agree to LRC talks

SIPTU and management at the Brinks Allied security firm have agreed to attend talks at the Labour Relations Commission this afternoon.

SIPTU and management at the Brinks Allied security firm have agreed to attend talks at the Labour Relations Commission this afternoon.

The talks have been arranged to discuss a dispute over new security measures introduced by the company.

More than 200 ATMs in the east of the country ran out of money over the weekend after Brinks workers refused to operate new security vans introduced in an effort to combat a spate of armed raids.

SIPTU has advised the workers to remain available for work, but only if the company reintroduces the older vans.

Staff believe the new vans and security arrangements leave them vulnerable to attack.
