Man appears on bomb charges

A 24-year-old man will appear at Dungannon magistrates court this morning charged with conspiracy to cause an explosion.

A 24-year-old man will appear at Dungannon magistrates court this morning charged with conspiracy to cause an explosion.

It is understood the charges relate to an explosion at Stewartstown police station, Co Tyrone, in July 2000.

No-one was injured when a 250lb car bomb detonated outside the station.

The man is also charged with membership of the Real IRA.

Two others questioned by police have been released pending the preparation of reports for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
