A man who had been hiking since Sunday in the Dublin / Wicklow region, has been found safe and well.

Friends became concerned after he failed to return at an appointed time of 2pm yesterday, and contacted rescue services.

Both the Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team formed a search plan, but before a full scale search began the man was located safe and well by Gardaí.

The man was hiking from Black Hill to Glenmalure.
