Police in Co Antrim are searching for two people suspected of deliberately trying to derail a train near Ballymoney last night.

Police in Co Antrim are searching for two people suspected of deliberately trying to derail a train near Ballymoney last night.

The pair are suspected of abandoning a car on the tracks at a level crossing on Station Road in the village of Dunloy at around 10.40pm.

An oncoming train collided with the vehicle, but none of the 30 passengers and staff on board was hurt in the crash.

The PSNI said it was treating the case as attempted murder and was looking for two men seen running from the abandoned car towards Dunloy shortly before the collision.
