Footballer Thierry Henry's home has been ransacked and his cleaner tied up during the burglary.

Police sources confirmed they are investigating a break-in at the north London home of the Arsenal player.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman says Camden CID is investigating an aggravated burglary at an address in Hampstead, between 6pm and 7pm on Wednesday December 5.

"The suspect gained entry to the premises, tied up a female cleaner before ransacking the property and leaving with a quantity of property," the spokesman said.

"The victim suffered from bruises and shock but did not require hospital treatment."
