St Brendan’s captured their second Irish title in three years when they took the Irish Junior Boys title with a stylish display in Birr.

In an even first half both sides had plenty of chances with Sligo just shading the possession count.

A goal minutes into the second period broke the deadlock as Kieran O'Leary finally beat the goalkeeper with a spectacular drive from 20 yards.

This inspired Killarney and they attacked Sligo right from the restart, forcing a succession of saves from goalkeeper Terry O'Malley.

Celtic-bound Diarmuid O'Carroll who dominated the midfield throughout notched their second 20 minutes from time when he broke down the left, cut back inside and his 25 yards effort flew inside the upright.
