Midfielder Michael Carrick is in line to make his Spurs’ debut at West Brom tomorrow after completing his transfer from West Ham.

He will compete for a midfield berth alongside summer signings Sean Davis and Pedro Mendes.

Fellow new signing Noe Paramot is also included in the squad after his move from Nice on Monday.

Striker Robbie Keane is in line for a recall after making a swift recovery from an ankle ligament injury having been stretchered off during a pre-season game with Rangers at the end of July.

The club’s medical staff are also sweating on the fitness of fellow striker Freddie Kanoute, who picked up a thigh strain against Newcastle on Saturday.

The pair will have to wait until tomorrow morning before finding out whether they make the trip, while long-term absentee Simon Davies is still missing.

Provisional squad: Robinson, Keller, Ifil, Naybet, King, Gardner, Edman, Redknapp, Brown, Davis, Mendes, Atouba, Jackson, Defoe, Kanoute, Silva, Carrick, Pamarot, Keane.
