A 22-year-old English man has been charged in connection with the €100m cocaine seizure in West Cork earlier this week.
The man was charged with two drugs offences when he appeared before a special sitting at Clonakilty District Court this afternoon.
He was charged with possession and possession for sale or supply of cocaine at Dunlough Bay, Mizen Head on July 2.
Detective Garda Bart O'Leary gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution and said he made no reply to either charge.
Gardaí applied for the man to be remanded in custody and his solicitor Flor Murphy said his client was not seeking bail at this moment.
Judge James McNulty remanded him in custody to appear again at Dunmanway District Court next Wednesday
Meanwhile, gardaí are searching for a man seen fleeing from a vacant holiday home near Ahakista last night.
