A man in his 70s has died in a crash in Co Tipperary.

A man in his 70s has died in a crash in Co Tipperary.

The single-vehicle collision happened at 3.25pm today at Lagganstown Lower, on a side road off the New Inn - Golden road.

The man, who was the only occupant of the car, died when the car he was driving left the road and collided with a ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is closed this evening while gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene.
