Independent TDs Catherine Murphy, Róisín Shortall, and Stephen Donnelly have indicated they are set to launch a new political party.

The three TDs have released a short statement this evening, confirming they have been engaged in ongoing discussions on a new political venture.

They say they are "excited to be working together to offer a new credible political choice to the Irish electorate".

However they said they would not be releasing any further details before an event on Wednesday.
