Crime against Irish business cost a whopping £775m last year, according to a new report out today.

Crime against Irish business cost a whopping £775m last year, according to a new report out today.

A survey commissioned by the Small Firms Association shows that business crime is up by 10%.

The total cost to small firms for the past twelve months was £775m.

The survey shows that 45% of businesses have been subject to crime, with most coming from the theft of stock, cash, property and credit card fraud.

The average internet crime now stands at £4,800 and is rising. The Small Firms Association is calling for increased use of garda resources.
