Gardaí are hunting two men believed to have stolen two guns from a car that crashed near Limerick city on Friday night.

Gardaí are hunting two men believed to have stolen two guns from a car that crashed near Limerick city on Friday night.

Two women and a 16-year old girl were detained when the car lost control and crashed close to Ardnacrusha.

Two guns believed to have been licensed firearms belonging the owner of the car were missing when gardaí came on the scene.

It is believed two men had been in the car at the time of the crash and fled with the guns.

Anyone with information is asked to contact gardaí at Mayorstone in Limerick.
