Hawke 'desperate' to audition for Spielberg
Hollywood actor Ethan Hawke was devastated when he failed to get a part in Steven Spielgerg's Saving Private Ryan.
The Training Day star was so desperate to get involved with the 1998 World War II drama, he did not mind which role he was allocated.
He says: "I couldn't get an audition. That p*ssed me me off.
"I was like, 'I'll take one of the dip-s**t parts. I'll be the sharp-shooter. Whatever. I don't care."
