Man stabbed in bed by intruders

A man was stabbed in the stomach with a broken bottle as he lay in his bed, police revealed today.

A man was stabbed in the stomach with a broken bottle as he lay in his bed, police revealed today.

The victim, aged 52, was also beaten around the head by two men who broke into his home in Co Armagh, Northern Ireland.

Police described the attack in Lough Road, Lurgan, at around 12.30am as a serious assault.

Despite the ferocity, it is not believed the victim’s wounds are life-threatening.

Detectives are still trying to establish a motive for the attack and have appealed for witnesses.
